Shmuel Kliger is the Founder of Turbonomic and was President of the company for its first 12 years. In this role, he led product development, strategy and management. Before founding Turbonomic, Shmuel served as Vice President of Architecture and Applied Research within EMC's CTO Office (now part of Dell Technologies). Prior to that, he was the CTO of the Resource Management Software Group at EMC, which he joined through EMC's acquisition of Smarts where he was a co-founder and CTO.
At Smarts, Shmuel was responsible for setting the vision and strategy as well as managing the R&D, Professional Services, Technical Support and Technology Partner Development organizations. Before Smarts, he was a member of the Distributed Systems Software Technology department at IBM Research developing middleware technologies. Shmuel also served as a senior researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel, and Manager of Technical Support Services for International Business Software in Israel.
Shmuel holds a B.S. in mathematics from Bar Ilan University. He also holds an M.S. and a Ph.D. in computer science from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel. Shmuel is an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist.
